Amsterdam Nieuw-West is in full development. Centrally located in this area will be Centrum Nieuw-West, the heart of the city. Here the modern residential building HEROS is rising with 119 free sector rental homes and 52 social rental homes. Together with Vincent van Woerkum, we supplied 172 homes with our kitchens. A project to be proud of. We would particularly like to thank Tim van Teeffelen, Henk van Teeffelen, Jessica Renders and Vincent van Woerkum.

What exactly does Lebo Realty do?

We are a real family business, founded some 80 years ago by my grandfather and made great by my father. I run the company together with my three sisters. We operate various retail, residential, and office properties throughout the Netherlands. I myself am primarily responsible for the financial matters within the company. We have a clear division of roles and that works well!

How did the partnership with I-KOOK come about?

The partnership between Lebo Vastgoed and I-KOOK was established by Vincent van Woerkum. Vincent has supplied and maintained kitchens for Lebo Vastgoed's real estate projects. Because of the good experience, he wrote to I-KOOK to supply all 172 kitchens. Soon there appeared to be a match between the two parties. "I-KOOK is very involved and that was needed in this project. The construction of the entire real estate project took 10 years including the preliminary process. With such large projects you encounter all sorts of things, that's why we were looking for a party that was flexible and service-oriented," said Tim van Teeffelen.

How does collaboration work when you have 172 kitchens to install?

The cooperation with I-KOOK went smoothly and the division of roles was clear. I-kook takes care of everything around the kitchens from quotation to delivery and Lebo checks the kitchens and supervises the process. Because of the size of the project, we faced several obstacles such as delays in the construction process, objects that had to fit in the elevator to be transported, but with clear communication, flexibility and practical thinking, together we made it a success and made the project work.

What is special about the kitchens?

We strive to create a pleasant and sustainable living and living environment for our tenants, part of which is the kitchen. We want to do this by moving away from the standard look and feel that kitchens have in the social sector. Normally you see small cubes with a stove next to them, we have chosen to give all kitchens a modern look. A nice stone top, an oven and an induction hob. These kitchens were created partly with the future in mind to deliver a completely gas-free home where no modifications will be needed at a later stage.

What are you most proud of?

''I have not carried such a large project before, but I look back on a special project that has led to a new and beautiful picture in the city center,'' said Tim van Teeffelen. It really is a stamp in Nieuw-west, creating a new beating heart. Great satisfaction with the communication, logistics and flexibility in this project, but especially the 172 kitchens that have been installed. Together we obtained a beautiful result that everyone who worked on this project can be proud of.

Is Lebo ready for the next generation?

Lebo is ready for the future with this completion. We look forward to seeing how the building will develop its place in the city center. It will last for many years to come, and we are growing with it as an organization.
